Game Fishing with Spiddal Angling School

Game Fishing

Salmon, Brown Trout and Sea Trout are the most desired of the game fish. Connemara is known worldwide for its clean, unpolluted rivers and lakes, which offer plentiful supplies of salmon, sea trout, and wild brown trout.

Season runs from February to September. Early season fishing can vary from day to day. Fishing for Salmon will depend on water levels. In March, Trout will rise to a fly. From May to June, the grilse (young salmon returning from the sea) move up the river and loughs. In July, both the Salmon and the Sea Trout will continue running until the end of the September.

If you fish for Sea Trout or Salmon you must purchase the relevant licence for these two migratory species. We can arrange for this at your request. Please contact us for full details.
